Hire Goals

Through HopkinsLocal, Johns Hopkins University and Health System have identified a group of targeted positions and consistently increased the percentage of new hires into those positions that come from focus areas where the need for employment is great.

The goal is to increase participation to 50 percent by the end of FY22 while expanding the list of positions and adding three ZIP codes.

In addition, the HR departments of the university and health system are working to:

  1. Broaden access to employment at Johns Hopkins University and Health System for citizens with criminal records
  2. Increase the use of tuition benefits by employees compared to a FY19 baseline
  3. Expand the Office of Strategic Workforce Development to improve the onboarding of HopkinsLocal hires, support them in their current roles, and enhance their professional development at the university

  • Laboratory Technician
  • Medical Office Coordinator
  • Research Program Assistant

  • Food Service Worker
